Sustainability
Swisstainable Level I – committed
Since 2024, Montreux Noël has proudly been part of the national Swisstainable program initiated by Switzerland Tourism, which promotes a more sustainable tourism industry across the country.
We have achieved the “Committed” level, reflecting our concrete efforts toward continuous sustainability.
This label certifies that we:
- respect recognized sustainability criteria,
- implement concrete actions to reduce our environmental impact,
- commit to improving our practices each year in terms of ecology, responsible consumption and local involvement.
Joining Swisstainable also means joining a collective movement of Swiss providers who aim to build a more responsible future, without compromising on quality or emotion.

Our eco-friendly initiatives
Every year, we implement solutions to reduce our environmental footprint, such as:
- Separate collection of PET bottles
- Use of reusable cups
- Washable or biodegradable dishware
- Solar-powered infrastructure for large structures
- Christmas decorations made from recycled PET, especially under the covered market
- Closed cycle of sunflower oil in all our catering facilities (see below)
A local and circular sunflower oil cycle
Our cooking oil comes from a short, sustainable supply chain:
- Sunflowers grown within 20 km of Romont
- Dried in Seigneux using biogas (Olivier Bonjour SA)
- Sorted and stored at Moulin de Promasens
- Pressed in Chavannes-les-Forts
- Residue (press cake) used to feed local livestock
- Used oil is recycled into energy in Seigneux
